On Sunday 22 July we will commence a new series of sermons “Be careful how you listen“.
The sermons come from Mark 4, Luke 8 and Matthew 13 – all about the Sower, the Seed and the Soil.
Mark records this parable as the first spoken by Jesus after appointing his apostles and explaining the hardness of heart and sinning against the Holy Spirit. The next paragraph sets the contrast between those whom He called and the Pharisees:
“Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.“
Both groups He taught in parables (3:23, 4:13). The two groups reacted differently. To the first group the parables were nothing more than riddles; to the second group they were “the secret of the Kingdom of God given to them.”
We approach this series under the heading “Be careful how you listen“. The first in the series “Sowing the seed – what to expect.”
Pray that God will use the “spreading” of the Gospel to his glory.
The texts of the sermons, as well as the audio files will be published on this blog.
